Esmeraldo Tavares, born on December 4, 1987, is an Angolan dance teacher hailing from Luanda. With a career spanning since 2006, he has become proficient in various dance styles including Kizomba, Semba, Kuduro, Afrobeat, Afrohouse, and more. He spent three years working in television at Palanca TV in Angola before making his way to Ireland in October 2019. Shortly after his arrival, he began teaching dance in County Clare, specifically in Miltown MalBay. Esmeraldo has also made notable appearances in the entertainment industry, having participated in the documentary "The Space Between Islands" on TG4 television in Ireland in 2001, showcasing his dancing skills. Additionally, he is involved in theater and was part of a play with Strive Theatre in 2002, where he showcased his talents both as a dancer and presenter. He further showcased his versatility by performing at the Electric Picnic, Ireland's largest festival that same year, combining elements of theater, music, and dance. Esmeraldo's passion for dance continued to shine through as he collaborated with the Today Show program on RTÉ in October 2022, leaving an indelible mark on the Irish dance scene. "Esmeraldo is the visionary behind the first international Kizomba Semba festival in Ireland. With a passion for dance and leadership, Esmeraldo is with Sanctuary Runners and swimmers, serving as the grand marshal of the St. Patrick's Day parade and led the Parede.
